Who’ll win the race across Europe in the Travel Trade Crusade?

18 teams, 6 countries and more than £35,000 for charity

Not Just Travel is super proud to be headline sponsor of this weekend’s Travel Trade Crusade, an exhilarating event that sees teams in fancy dress and exotically-decorated cars race across Europe to raise money for charity.

Throughout the journey, participants will engage in a series of wacky and wonderful challenges, adding a layer of fun and unpredictability to the adventure.

Our very own Cruise Business Development Manager Gemma Outram and her daughter Chloe will be taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime trip on behalf of Not Just Travel, pitting themselves against 17 other teams from across the travel industry.

Gemma Outram says:  "Life just doesn’t get any crazier than when you are racing through multiple countries in Europe dressed in ridiculous costumes, while completing weird and wonderful challenges with the locals. We are ready to hustle and have fun while doing what it takes to win the challenge and raise ridiculous amounts of money for our favourite charities.

In what is the fifth Travel Trade Crusade, the aim is to raise more than £35,000. Gemma is raising funds for The Pink Ribbon Foundation, which supports breast cancer patients, and Reuben's Retreat, which aids families with children facing life-limiting conditions and bereavement.

Co-founder of Not Just Travel, Steve Witt, says: “This event demonstrates perfectly how fun, collaborative, and generous the travel industry is. It’s going to be a wild weekend with lots of laughs and memories made along the way.”

The expedition kicks off bright and early on 5th July from the Champagne region of Reims in France, with the cavalcade of cars heading south to the enchanting lakeside town of Thun, Switzerland.

Day two continues through Switzerland and Germany, the route showcases Europe’s stunning scenery and thrilling roads, culminating in Merzig in the heart of Saarland, Germany.

The final stretch on day three, comprises a fantastic journey northwards, meandering through striking gorges and valleys, culminating in a surprise location in Northern Europe, known only to the organisers.

Teams will be competing not just in terms of speed but also in creativity. Points will be awarded for the best-dressed teams and the most creatively decorated cars.

For live updates and to follow the adventures of Gemma, Chloe, and the other teams, in one of the most beautiful parts of Europe, be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram profiles.

And it you’re able pop a donation to The Pink Ribbon Foundation or Reuben’s Retreat, that would give our team a boost and make a difference. Thank you!
